点评:If you find yourself in Cologne on a Sunday when the shops are closed, Museum Ludwig is the perfect activity. It spans across three levels, featuring collections that ranges from Pop Art to Surrealism including works from Roy Lichtenstein to Picasso. I thoroughly enjoyed the openness of the high ceilings. All of the art was well spread out which helped prevent too much crowding around any one piece.
Since it was winter, I was thrilled to find out there is free coat and bag check. Pro-tip: Be mindful of your bag size; they are strict about the dimensions allowed inside the galleries.
I went to the museum at 15:00 and the crowds were quite tame! I unfortunately had a flight to catch, but given how not busy it was, I found it quite easy to navigate through the different rooms. I wish I could have stayed longer but I highly recommend blocking off 3 hours at the minimum to truly appreciate the scale of the exhibits. Especially given the size of the museum, it's definitely worth the 15.40 euros.
Verdict: A must-do for art lovers. It’s right near the Cathedral and the train station, which made it my perfect final stop before heading to the airport.
