皇家罗马浴场的点评
点评：Extensive site of baths. Frankly, little of what remains above ground is totally original - but they are very honest about this, and make it clear in the interpretative material, which is unusual, and much to be commended.
What makes the visit really worthwhile is the access to the extensive network of underground passages related t9 the heating, plumbing and maintenance of the baths. It isn’t signposted, and you could easily miss it. Access is down some insignificant looking steps, to the left of the main apse and tall ruins as you look at them. You can wander around at will.
The leaflet in English - and in other languages, for all that I know- is tiny, and difficult to read. They really should do better. The video, on a loop, is a useful intro to the history.
The staff at reception lacked any empathy. Clearly it is just a job which they regard as boring.
