点评：Visited Heybridge Basin and Paper Mill Lock. The cruises run from both, but there is parking at Heybridge Basin where whereas there is limited parking at Paper Mill Lock, and what there is is associated with the café and time-limited. So on Friday, 22nd August 2025, we visited Heybridge and, following advice from the Bargemaster Cabins Tea Hut, I scanned the QR code on the side of the hut and booked 2 tickets at £9 each for what turned out to be a circa 45 mins mini cruise up the navigation channel, so about 20 mins each way. The boat is run by volunteers, and when you book the tickets, there are options to request food, but tbh the ride is so short I wouldn't bother. You have to book online in advance, and there are only limited spaces, and the craft only runs between 11-4 every hour, so check in advance if they are running, as in general, if the weather's bad, they won't be.
