I booked a package holiday through Lastminute.com to Ayia Napa, including accommodation at Studios Nissi Avenue, Nissi Avenue 16. My stay began on Tuesday, 10 July, and it was immediately evident the property was undergoing renovations—something not disclosed prior to booking.
Upon arrival at 6:30pm, I was informed that my room was not ready and advised to return in a couple of hours. When I came back at 10:00pm, the room was still in an appalling state: dusty, unclean, and clearly not prepared for any guest. Attempts to contact the owner, Mike, were met with dismissive and unhelpful responses. He claimed cleaners would come the next morning, but I saw no evidence of cleaning when I returned after an early outing. Even on the third day of my stay, the room remained in deplorable condition.
Despite repeated efforts to communicate the health risks—particularly as I suffer from asthma—Mike showed zero concern or accountability. The strong chemical odours, possibly from paint or other renovation materials, caused severe headaches and respiratory distress. When I asked for assistance or resolution, I was advised to “just book another room and cancel,” all while I awaited further instructions from Lastminute.com.
The management’s behaviour throughout was negligent and indifferent. The property is unsafe, unsanitary, and wholly unsuitable for guests. I am compiling photographic and video evidence to support a formal complaint. Travelers with health conditions, especially asthma, should avoid this location entirely.
I strongly urge holidaymakers to steer clear of Studios Nissi Avenue. It was not only a grossly disappointing experience, but also a deeply stressful and potentially harmful one.
