点评:This is a historic church and heritage site just south of Hofsos. It is accessible by way of a short detour off Rt 76. You'll find a small carpark and short walk through a field until you reach Grafarkikja, the oldest remaining turf church in Iceland.
There is an information panel revealing the known history of the church originally built in the 17th century and includes Baroque style wood carvings which you can see upon the exterior facade. Seems the church may be open to visit at times. It wasn't when we passed by last month. However, you enter the circular turf wall and walk around the church up close and peer through a couple of the windows.
Worth a quick look-see and short walk to stretch your legs if you have been driving for a while and intend to pass through Hofsos.
