Great Fun and Good Value on the Edge of Bilbao

点评：I'll start this review by saying that the course itself (the fairways and a few tee-boxes) wasn't in pristine condition, unlike the greens which were perfect.
So, why 5 stars? Well, the odd bald patch on the fairways or a bit of tussock-grass here and there, doesn't affect your round. Nor does the odd slightly scruffy-looking tee-box. What makes this such a good course is the design, which is packed with variety, doglegs, slopes and elevation changes. A few long par 4's, but also some short ones to add to the fun. It never gets boring.
The staff are incredibly helpful too. We stopped off here in 2024 when the course was closed following torrential rains, but the club President (Alphonse if I remember correctly) very-kindly gave us a buggy to tour the course and then showed us round the back-9 in person. We said then we would return to play the course and we're very pleased we did albeit a year later. The lady in the shop/reception was also very keen to ensure we had a good day out.
Unusually, we rented a buggy for our round (as it was 36 degrees that day) but, with the possible exception of the long walk from the 9th to the 10th, the course is walkable, again accepting that there is quite a lot of elevation change. As usual, there are electric and manual trolleys for rent.
The course sits on the outskirts of Bilbao, with good views in all directions. We would definitely play here again when we're in the area.
