点评:Right upon arrival on the "outer grounds" of the Castle was seeing a scene of "medieval charm" (a nice-sized structure with a cone-shaped tower on each of the 4 corners, visible narrow openings of battlements along the upper rampart on one side and the most important of all "a moat filled with water" around the Castle) which yes is definitely a modern-day "romantic setting" (as I learned not surprisingly is a popular site for films & such). And, after going through the moat was arriving at the "inner courtyard" then the interior of the Castle where although it was like an "initial disappointment" with the interior on the "entry side" of the courtyard being a mostly-bare one (except for the thrill of walking along the upper ramparts in like an L-shape), it was a tour which got much "better & exciting" after entering the "far side" of the courtyard starting with briefly inside the "small dungeon" (with chains for prisoners still in place) followed by the "tower top" (the one on the far-left corner of the courtyard with pretty much an all-around view including the view of the small marina right beside the Castle & the big water beyond likely the "open sea" as the Castle is located at a river-mouth area) with just an indoor-connection to the rest of the Castle after coming down the tower among which are some "decorated rooms" (one with a big model of "knight in armor", one with like a "royal bed" & an "infant crib", one with quite a number of "beautiful paintings" all around the room, and one which is the Castle's kitchen with a "big hearth" at one end of the room).
And as for the exterior of the Castle, it was quite a "pleasurable walk" I would say going on a circular walk around the structure on the "outer grounds" (with "2 levels" of the grounds) including an encounter with models of "big insects" and getting to see the displays of the "historic timeline" of the area (from about the 13th century when the Castle was first built to the present time) but yes getting to enjoy above all during the walk was the "beauty of nature" with these a-little-tall grass blowing in the wind beside the pathways where to see just beyond those tall grass are like "spacious pastures" & yes the small marina with the sea beyond (as had been previously seen from the tower-top as mentioned above but it was better to see that water up-close I would say from the "back side" of the grounds); and yes kind of adding to the beautiful nature scene around the Castle is also the "front-side garden" with really quite a nice view of the Castle seen past the garden's flowers (as seen from its far side after the walk through the garden although there were not that much of flowers seen at the time).
After just about a 15-minute train ride from the Amsterdam Centraal was arriving at the Weesp train station from which it was about a 45-minute walk north to the Muiden town (be sure to come out from the side of the station opposite from the side to the center of Weesp "if choosing to walk" instead of taking the bus), and yes the walk itself was quite an enjoyable one first passing by farmlands (with grazing cows & such seen not too far away) then along some "narrow path" beside the river pretty much all the way to the town where it was about another 15 minutes further north to the Castle (including about 5 minutes while waiting for the "rotating bridge" across a canal to close and open again).
