点评：Just completed an amazing adventure with Altai Expeditions. Primarily a fishing trip we 1st went to Murun then north to the Uur River for Taimen. A difficult fish to get but we caught plenty, especially as we were allowed to use lures and fish at night when they were more active. Also plenty of Lenok (Mongolian trout) and Siberian grayling. Then went west to Lake Khyargas for Altai Osman. Then went further west near Ulgii for Mongolian grayling, the biggest in the world. Tremendously successful trip, caught all 5 target species.
But this was more than just fishing. A real adventure camping in the wilderness, amazing scenery, so much history, staying in Gers, visiting nomadic herders, eagle hunters etc. None of this would have been possible without Bek from Altai Expeditions and his organisational skills. He took care of everything and was flexible when minor changes had to be made due to river conditions.
After travelling with the team for 2 weeks everyone felt like family.
I really do recommend Altai Expeditions for your Mongolian trip. A couple of tips, the camp cook Tamara makes the best dumplings and fried bread. And try to get some yak clotted cream, the most delicious cream ever.
But this was more than just fishing. A real adventure camping in the wilderness, amazing scenery, so much history, staying in Gers, visiting nomadic herders, eagle hunters etc. None of this would have been possible without Bek from Altai Expeditions and his organisational skills. He took care of everything and was flexible when minor changes had to be made due to river conditions.
