点评：I joined Mongolian Altai Tours – Trekmates Travel for their 10-day Altai Nomads Game Eagle Festival tour, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. We stayed with a local eagle hunter’s family on their own land, which made the trip feel incredibly authentic and meaningful. Our guide, Erka, was thoughtful, and always eager to share stories about his childhood and life in the Altai region. His wife is an amazing cook. She prepared all of our meals, and every single dish was delicious.
One of the most incredible parts of the trip was going out on horseback with two eagle hunters. Watching them in action was unreal… we even saw a fox running down the mountain. The fox made a great escape, but witnessing the hunt firsthand and being part of the experience was something I’ll never forget.
The area itself is far less touristy than many places I’ve traveled, and that’s exactly what makes it so special. You get to genuinely experience the local culture without crowds or commercialization. Choosing this tour company also means supporting local families rather than big tour operators, and you can truly feel the care and pride they put into every part of the experience.
I originally planned to take this tour back in 2020, and when I started considering a trip to Mongolia again last year, I came across Erka’s page again & instantly knew I had to join his tour.
I highly recommend Mongolian Altai Tours – Trekmates Travel to anyone looking for an authentic, personal, and truly special experience in Mongolia.
