点评：The Smith Bridge stood at this crossing of the Baker River for more than 140 years before it was destroyed by arson in 1993. The 1850 covered bridge was built by Harmon Marcy for $2,720.92 and was known for its excellent joinery and laminated arches added later in its history. After years of deterioration and efforts to raise funds for its restoration, the bridge was set on fire on April 16, 1993. The structure was a total loss.

The replacement, completed in 2001, was named the Smith Millennium Covered Bridge. Designed as a modern timber bridge using traditional covered bridge construction, it was built by E.D.
