点评:This is a three part review. First, there is a road from the bottom of the valley at the Visitor Center up about 1000 feet to Massai Point, an area that looks out over some of the features. The drive is pleasant going through some forested areas and climbing above the canyon with views all around of the mountains and canyons.
Walk to Lookout – at the Point there’s a funny little lookout. There's a concrete walk all the way to the Lookout. It’s a smallish room with windows all around. Nice views of the surrounding area. Inside are displays that have nothing to do with the locale, the views or the NM. They were interesting. But curious.
Hike Massai Point Nature Trail – so let’s get walking. At the Point there is a Nature trail that encircles the Point (well about 2/3 of it). The trail is pretty rough. It’s coarse and not refined. The steps are irregular and awkward to navigate. The trail itself is rocky and unlevel. However, that griping out of the way, it provides a half mile entre into the surrounding landscape. It was slow going with a lot of up and down. At about a half mile, it felt like much more. But well worth all the trouble to walk the trail.
