A Grand Day at Schönbrunn Palace – Book Ahead and Plan to Explore!

点评：We had a wonderful visit to Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna on Saturday, September 20. We booked the Classic Tour, which covers 40 of the palace’s 2,400 rooms, and it was absolutely worth it. Booking in advance is essential, as time slots fill up quickly, especially on weekends.
The audio headsets were excellent and allowed us to move at our own pace through the magnificent rooms. Our favorite was the Hall of Mirrors, where the young Mozart once performed for Empress Maria Theresa—a magical moment to imagine as you stand there.
We also paid separately for the on-and-off palace train, which made exploring the enormous grounds much easier. We especially enjoyed getting off at the Gloriette to take in the panoramic views and beautiful photos of the palace below.
The palace gardens are vast and full of surprises—we wandered through the forest behind the main palace and even got a little lost, but it added to the adventure!
Tip: Choose a sunny day for your visit to truly appreciate the grandeur of the landscape and capture the best photos.
After our visit, we caught the tram right across the street and were quickly back at our hotel next to the Volkstheater—a perfect ending to a memorable day at one of Vienna’s most iconic landmarks.
