Immersive and Impressive – A Must-Visit in Sainte-Mère-Église

点评：We visited the Airborne Museum during the 80th anniversary of D-Day. It’s located directly across from the famous church where U.S. paratrooper John Steele of the 82nd Airborne became entangled on the steeple during the invasion.
The museum itself is impressive, made up of several large buildings connected by an outdoor walking path. The exhibits are thoughtfully designed to be immersive, and my teens especially loved this aspect. We were particularly struck by the C-47 building (the scale is incredible) and the Operation Neptune exhibit, which simulates the night flight into Normandy and the D-Day landings.
Located right in the heart of Sainte-Mère-Église, this is absolutely a must-visit!
Bonus tip: If you can plan your trip for the first week of June, the museum hosts an incredible re-enactment camp—Camp Geronimo which is walkable from the museum and free to enter. Weather permitting, you may also catch parachute demonstrations!
