点评：If you’ve been to the British or American cemeteries, this is very different. The German approach is different with their war cemeteries primarily due to their architect. It is however a hugely respectful site and again you forget the scale of the German losses. The Information Centre is worth visiting (with toilets) with many stories and some very tragic even expressing the German atrocities. The ‘reconciliation’ philosophy is so powerful as most of these soldiers were simply doing their duty and left widows and children and devastated parents; this needs to be considered. Sometimes we are all called to do our duty and we cannot say no without severe consequences. Most German soldiers were not Gestapo or SS but common soldiers doing their duty. The Germans suffered huge casualties and we see these here.
