UNFORTUNATELY, THIS TRIP, OUR FOURTH, WAS RUINED BY CRYSTAL SKI’S LACK OF TRANSPARENCY ABOUT THE HOTEL ACCOMMODATION AND THEIR COMPLETE FAILURE TO DELIVER ON EXPECTATIONS.
WE WERE NOT INFORMED THAT GUESTS BOOKING THROUGH CRYSTAL SKI WOULD BE PLACED IN THE ANNEX—A COMPLETELY SEPARATE BUILDING FROM THE MAIN HOTEL. THE IMAGES OF ROOMS DISPLAYED ON CRYSTAL SKI’S WEBSITE AND ADVERTISEMENTS SHOW ONLY THE MAIN HOTEL ROOMS, WHICH ARE HIGHER QUALITY, WELL-FINISHED, AND IN LINE WITH THE 4-STAR RATING. HOWEVER, THE ANNEX ROOMS, WHICH ARE 1 OR 2-STAR AT BEST, ARE NOT SHOWN AT ALL, MAKING THE LISTINGS MISLEADING AND DECEPTIVE. THE ANNEX ROOMS ARE OUTDATED, POORLY EQUIPPED, AND DO NOT REFLECT THE QUALITY ADVERTISED BY CRYSTAL SKI.
ADDITIONAL ISSUES INCLUDED HOSTILITY FROM HOTEL STAFF, A LACK OF BASIC ROOM AMENITIES (NO KETTLES, ROBES, OR SLIPPERS), AND DANGEROUS FACILITIES SUCH AS AN ICY GARAGE FOR ACCESSING SKI LOCKERS. EVEN THE CRYSTAL SKI REP WASN’T ALLOWED INTO THE HOTEL LOBBY, ADDING TO THE UNWELCOMING ATMOSPHERE.
HAVING SPOKEN TO OTHER GUESTS, IT BECAME CLEAR THAT OUR EXPERIENCE WAS NOT ISOLATED. MANY GUESTS BOOKED THROUGH CRYSTAL SKI HAVE HAD SIMILAR ISSUES, YET CRYSTAL SKI CONTINUES TO BOOK CUSTOMERS INTO HOTEL AUSTRIA DESPITE THE REPEATED FAILURES AND DISSATISFACTION.
IF BOOKING THROUGH CRYSTAL SKI, DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. THE LACK OF TRANSPARENCY AND MISLEADING INFORMATION ABOUT THE ROOMS MAKES THEM UNTRUSTWORTHY. BASED ON THIS EXPERIENCE, WE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM AS A TOUR OPERATOR.
