点评:You're in Holland. There are windmills. De Valk is a good place to get a thorough introduction to mills of all types. I learned a lot, actually.
You can explore the living quarters at the bottom, then watch an 11-minute video (four languages are offered, I think they were Dutch, English, German and French or maybe Spanish?). The video told all about water mills, horse mills, windmills, grain mills, saw mills...you get the idea. Then you can climb up the levels to the top and stand on the balcony. You can see the sails and nice views of Leiden. There are many windmill models and other equipment on view.
This was a nice bite-sized introduction to windmills. It's all I feel we need for this trip! It is not appropriate for disabled individuals or those who'd get unsteady or uncomfortable climbing up and down ladders. The take the Netherlands museum pass and there is a little gift shop in the bottom. The lady at the desk was very nice.
