点评:We had high hopes for our evening at The Black Bull — a historic inn in the heart of Haworth with strong literary connections. Sadly, the experience was deeply disappointing.
After being seated and served a first course (which was pleasant, and my cauliflower soup was exceptional), we were effectively forgotten. Despite staff visiting the only other occupied table multiple times, no one returned to check on us, clear plates, or offer dessert or drinks. We waited patiently for over half an hour before one of our party approached the bar — only to be told the kitchen had closed, and no further food would be served. It was just after 8pm, and there had been no warning or apology.
We also politely asked if the overly intrusive radio broadcast could be turned down slightly, as it was making conversation difficult, but the request was brushed off.
We understand that kitchens have set closing times — but being ignored by staff while still seated, with empty plates, and no explanation offered, made us feel like an inconvenience rather than welcome guests.
A beautiful historic location deserves better service to match its setting. Regrettably, we won’t be returning.
