点评：How do you evaluate perfection? We stayed in the Rose Suite for a night as it is our 10th wedding anniversary this year. I have visited Warwick Castle several times from 1978 onwards but this is the first time I have stayed there. Mad props to all the staff, particularly Ellie, even if she wouldn’t tell me where the dragons were kept, and George for the interesting and informative history tour – I hope the bookmark went well. Having the privilege of staying in a 14th century tower is a unique experience, as is everything else that came with it such as access to the grounds when there was no one around. It was stormy on the night we stayed and hearing the winds buffeting the tower was quite something. You will read other reviews that are maybe less complimentary, but I think if you are expecting to stay in an historical building and it be somehow akin to a Travelodge with double glazed windows or air-conditioning, you may need to reevaluate your expectations. Yes, the windows are drafty but the curtains keep the draft out and you can’t simply retrofit HVAC into a scheduled listed monument and indeed, why would you? You do also need a reasonable level of fitness to enjoy this as it should be enjoyed because there is a lot of walking and a fair few steep steps to be negotiated.
