If you don’t make the summit, expect an insulting £9 refund on your £45 ticket

点评：Massively disappointing experience. The cost for 3 adults and 2 children was £209 to the summit, not a small amount.
Now whilst I entirely understand the wind speeds are of course no fault of SMR, their pricing and refund policy should you not reach the summit IS entirely their obligation to get right, and currently they absolutely don’t.
A miserly £9 refund on a £45 ticket, when you are barely over half way to the top, is insulting and predatory company behaviour. The entire point of taking the train is to get to the top, the disappointment and frustration at paying such a huge amount of money to not get what you paid for is insulting. There needs to be a big rethink about either refunding 50% or offering reduced priced tickets to rebook. We waited 20 years to do this trip, my elderly parents had been so excited to finally take the train and it was one big let down.
Also, the coffee at the Llanberis cafe is absolute dish water. No provision to provide dairy free unless you want UHT pots of soya milk in a terrible tasting Americano.
Overall, after living in wales for 20 years and always wanting to avail of the SMR, I now see it’s one big money grabbing tourist trap and I’ll be sure to let others know.
