Mauritshuis: a Dutch Treasure in the Heart of The Hague (Small Museum, Great Masterpieces)

A small museum with a huge heart.
Visiting the Mauritshuis has been one of the most unforgettable experiences of my trip to the Netherlands. This elegant building is not only a jewel of architecture, but it also holds inside some of the greatest treasures of Dutch art:
- View of Delft
- Girl with a Pearl Earring (Vermeer)
- The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Tulp (Rembrandt)
… and so many more.
Wandering through its intimate, charming rooms felt like stepping into a different era. Every corner of the museum invites you to pause, observe, and admire.
Special thanks to one of the amazing staff members who took the time to chat with me about Vermeer, View of Delft, and the beautiful city of The Hague (Den Haag) itself. That conversation added a personal touch I’ll always remember.
