点评：This market is as authentic as you can get in the US! I had just returned from Germany and couldn't believe such a market exists in the US, even with a Christmas pyramid and photo ops! It's absolutely beautiful, and the food is authentic and unique to Germany. Even the mugs are almost identical. Make sure you get raclette (cheese) on bread. They also had schnitzel and sauteed mushrooms, just like the markets in Germany. They had several beers, but it's too cold to drink them. The gleuwein and apple wine are the best choice in the cold (or hot chocolate)! When you buy a hot drink, you can pay extra to get it in a mug, but you cannot return the mug to get your deposit back like you can in Europe. If you buy wine in the mug, then you have to keep the mug for $6. It was organized and clean, and there were heat lamps scattered around. There were also carolers and an ice skating rink with skates to rent. We parked on the street for free and walked 5 minutes to the market.
I thought the shopping was too expensive and way overpriced. I would normally shop at a Christmas market for souviniers and memorabilia, not expensive artistic items.
The biggest problem is that there is not enough space for the amount of people that attend. The food lines were very long. They need more food booths and more space. The ice skating rink had a limit and sold out, which was good because there weren't too many people bumping into each other on the ice. But ONE BIG DIFFERENCE from Germany, was how nice everyone was to each other. No one was pushing or rude. One lady tried to let me in front of her in line because she thought I was there first! And then we had a wonderful conversation while we waited in line. I've NEVER had that happen in Germany.
