点评:This is a classic European opera house that was built in 1891, the first with electricity in Europe. The interior is awesome. One sees the layout of these classic European opera houses in the movies and on tv, but you can't really appreciate it until you are in one. Yes, it's like a glorious layer cake inside, with the circular bands of boxes piled 3 or 4 tiers high, overlooking the stage and a the open-floor seating. The boxes are very private. Each has a door behind it, although there is a narrow walkway from one to the other. The box only has room for 2 seats, or 3 if you're all skinny and friendly.
They have a very cool tradition. The 24 hours before their first show is an open house. We were fortunate enough to visit then, and indeed you just walk in for free and grab a seat for a performance. We saw a casual performance of the orchestra and had our own little box. It is a magical, romantic experience to sit and watch a show in this old building.
