CHRISTMAS EVENT? DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME!

点评：We have visited Brogdale pre Covid for the apple festival and it was brilliant. We saw a Christmas event advertised and thought we’d give it a go. When we arrived there was no atmosphere or Christmas music which is what you’d expect.
They had 5 stalls in the courtyard 1 of them was fostering (which is a great cause) but not relevant to a children’s event. My son has a milk allergy and the cake stall that was there had nothing milk free/vegan? We then went into the cafe and there was a sign saying we can’t guarantee that the milk free alternatives are completely milk free! Also no dairy free/vegan cakes?!
One of the main reasons we can was because my son loves tractors and there was a tractor ride advertised. The first problem is that the event opened at 10am and the first tractor ride wasn’t until 12pm, young children cannot wait that long and there also wasn’t 2 hours of things to do before they started up.
We waited at the front to see Santa arrive. He came up on the tractor and got off, walked through the crowed and said nothing to the kids or even acted like Santa! I also heard other people complaining to the staff about the Santa.
We managed to get our son to wait until 12pm, we got on the trailer which had a bit of tinsel on and that was it. Again no Christmas music, no atmosphere. It was also a pretty depressing drive round lots of fields with thousands of wasted mouldy apples on the ground! If you don’t have people to pick the fruit, why don’t you do pick your own apples like other places do strawberries?
Also, the miniature railway that is there is great usually but it was closed! At a Christmas event?? Why? My son was gutted and there were lots of kids looking at it asking their parents to go on it.
All I can say about Santas grotto is that it looked basic and no one had put any love into it!
We also found out that since we came last it has been bought by someone else. There were several people in the Santa queue saying how rubbish the event was.
The only reason it wasn’t a 1 star was because our 3 year old liked the tractor ride.

我们设法让儿子等到 12 点，我们上了挂着一些金属丝的拖车，就这样了。还是没有圣诞音乐，没有气氛。开车绕着许多田野转，地上堆满了成千上万个发霉的苹果，真是令人沮丧！如果没有人来摘水果，为什么不像其他地方摘草莓那样自己摘苹果呢？
此外，那里的微型铁路通常都很棒，但它关闭了！在圣诞节活动上？为什么？我儿子很伤心，有很多孩子看着它，要求他们的父母去那里。
关于圣诞老人洞穴，我只能说它看起来很简陋，没有人对它投入任何爱！
我们还发现，自从我们上次来之后，它就被别人买走了。圣诞老人队列中有几个人说这个活动太糟糕了。
它没有获得一星的唯一原因是我们 3 岁的孩子喜欢乘坐拖拉机。
