点评:I visited this Museum with a friend in July. I had visited this museum previously about 12 years ago. At that point it was mostly interesting for the collection of instruments of torture. Since then a lot of work has been put in and the Museum is much more accessible to non Dutch speakers. To be fair there had always been various language tours and still are, but the audio guides introduced in the last few years are very helpful and easy to use.
The Museum displays and guides cover not only the fairly gruesome punishments for the not always guilty, but go into considerable detail concerning both the individual cases and the wider social cultural and economic background.
The staff are friendly helpful cooperative and well informed. The only negative for some is that of course this is an old and historic building so consequently access for the physically impaired is poor Frankly there is only so much that can be done about that given the nature of medieval buildings
Otherwise i would highly recommend it. Note if you are intending to visit the next door Prins William Gallery a joint ticket is available On this occasion we did not have time;
