Darlington Raceway的点评
点评：Darlington has been on my "to visit" bucket list for many years. This year an opportunity presented itself to attend the Coca-Cola 400 for throwback weekend and I made my plans accordingly.
First of all, I want to mention that I stayed in nearby Columbia, SC, which is a very cute little college town with plenty of very nice rooms and entertainment. I'd suggest that you consider staying in Columbia when visiting Darlington.
The Darlington fan zone was wonderful, and inside the fan zone, they had the most affordable beer on the property. Take note and save a few bucks as you keep hydrated.
The only problem I had was climbing the stairs to get to the grandstand and then climbing the grandstand stairs. I am in reasonable shape for my age (early 70s), but I was totally out of breath and exhausted after this stair-climbing adventure. My health app said that each set of stairs was over two stories!
The seats were great, and the new seating did not crowd people together like the old folding chairs. I enjoyed excellent views and, overall, a fun day of NASCAR racing and, of course, the great pre-race events.
My exit from the free parking lot was painless. If you wanted to take advantage of them, they had golf cart shuttles to take you from the stands to your car.
Overall, it was an A+ experience, and I am hoping to be able to attend Throwback Weekend in 2025.
