点评:I had anticipated this would be a short experience, wandering through a historic home, and planned on maybe 30 minutes inside. I followed the entire audio tour and ended up spending a little more than hour here. This is one of the most beautiful restored home style museums I have ever visited. I wanted to take pictures of every nook and cranny to look at all the details again when returning home.
Every single piece on display is stunning and perfectly fits the setting. The staff were very welcoming, and even moved a display aside in the small foyer to show me what happened when the shudders were drawn, since I mentioned that I was mad about stained glass. (the shudders have colored glass in them that completely changes their appearance when closed vs. when they are open and the light doesn't catch the glass).
The Egyptian room was an unexpected surprise that appealed to my love of all things quirky and paranormal, and the overall interior was just such a unique and unexpected surprise to find nestled amongst the colonial and gilded age buildings of the city.
If you are even remotely interested in antiques, architecture, or homes of historic importance, I can't recommend this experience enough!
