点评:Beautiful building but not wheelchair friendly in any way to get in or out, with a dark-wooden interior.
Our problem was arriving around 10-30-11.00 after leaving Cienfuegos. This was the first, and only disadvantage of being on a very small, private tour - we were too efficient and punctual compared with 30-40 people with bags etc. on a coach. Apparently, there was nothing to do or visit before lunch due to the itinerary and petrol. We could have visited the botanical gardens instead of waiting until after lunch, but Orlando the driver was worried about doing this and running out of petrol before getting to Trinidad, our ultimate destination for the day. This left us in a very awkward situation: somewhat stranded inside waiting for lunch which at the very earliest, eating around midday and would have been an hour and a half in the future. In fact we were closer to the breakfast we'd eaten earlier than we were to a super-early lunch...
Another Cuban example of inefficiency was on display from the moment we arrived - too many staff and not enough work led them to try and 'look busy' by constantly hovering around the edges of the room as they wanted the boss to think they were doing something because they had visitors and visitors mean lunch and work. This happened many times despite us telling the boss and our guide that we'd let them know when we were ready for lunch, but this was like playing whack-a-mole - the minute one pair of waitresses were told we weren't ready, another pair would appear hovering and smiling near the door...
Finally, around 12.00 when we couldn't continue with this silly game we gave up and said we were now ready for lunch as it was a couple of minutes after noon. After all that fuss, lunch was the same as everywhere else - 2 courses plus dessert, no choices, pay for drinks including water. Just as we were leaving a coach party arrived to give everyone some work to do at more like lunchtime.
