A Great Local History Museum
Tampa Bay History Center的点评
点评：I visited the Tampa Bay History Center with my family. I had heard it was a good museum, but it was even better than I expected. The Tampa Bay History Center employees were very friendly and helpful.
The facility was in great condition. The restrooms were clean and well-maintained. The exhibits were in good shape. Sometimes museums have broken exhibits that look worn out. I didn't find that at the Tampa Bay History Center.
The historical exhibits were really good. There are three floors of exhibits and they cover various eras and topics in Tampa and Florida history. There were exhibits about the indigenous peoples of Florida, Florida settlers, the Seminole wars, Spanish colonization, founding of Ybor City and the cigar industry, the African American experience in Tampa, pirate history in Florida, and a wonderful collection of historical maps. There was also a temporary exhibit about immigrants from Spain and their experience coming to Florida and the US.
The were also some great films and multimedia presentations on subjects like the Seminole war, the shipping docks in Tampa, the arrival of Spanish conquistadors, and pirates. There are also interactive displays that can be handled and interacted with; these are great for children who visit.
I recommend a visit to the Tampa Bay History Center.
