点评:We visited the Almendres Cromlech and the Dolmen site with a tour booked through Get Your Guide. Pedro took us in his car, (I hope I have not mixed up his name, I met so many people on this trip!) so it was a private tour, but very reasonably priced. We were picked up at the hotel and dropped off at the bus station, which was very convenient. Pedro also stopped so we could admire the nesting storks by the road.
It was wonderful to see the standing stones, but I really enjoyed the walk through the countryside to reach the site as much as the site itself. Such a lovely area, and so peaceful. Saw lots of cork trees, wildflowers, heard birds including cuckoos. This was one of my favorite days in Portugal.
Pedro is a very nice person and told us a lot about his life in this area. I really enjoyed his company.
The ground was damp from all the recent rain, so wear good shoes. The length of the hike varies depending on road conditions and whether the gates are open or not, so it could be shorter or longer, but it's easy
