Moreover, the majority of the path was shaded, providing respite from the scorching morning sun. Given that we embarked on this adventure around 9:30 AM, the hot and humid weather was certainly a factor. One of the highlights of our hike was spotting a vulture. While it was quite far away, a good camera with zoom capabilities allowed us to capture clear images of this magnificent bird. As we continued along the trail, we couldn't help but notice the fascinating traces of travertine left behind by the waterfall that once flowed here ages ago. It serves as a living testament to the geological history of the area and the remarkable fact that the waterfall has moved backward over time, heading in a south-western direction. This intriguing aspect of the hike added an educational element to our experience. It's important to note that swimming is prohibited in this nature reserve.
