Macdonald Craxton Wood Spa的点评
点评：I booked this spa as a gift for my friend’s 30th. I booked a package with a treatment each and afternoon tea.
I thought it would’ve been nice to travel a bit so we weren’t at the same local spas, but I know for future I’ll put the money spent on fuel towards a spa closer to home that’s better.
Upon arriving, they were busy on reception, but we were seen as soon as possible and the staff on reception were lovely. We were given our robes and slippers but had to ask for towels.
We made our way to the changing rooms where only about 75% of the lockers were in working order, not really an issue, we found one and shared. The changing rooms however, were quite dirty, especially the floors in the toilet area. On this, I didn’t see a single cleaner the whole time we were there.
The spa is adequate at best, the nicest parts were the relaxation rooms, which, unless you ask or are familiar with the premises, you wouldn’t know they’re there. The thermal suite again, adequate, the herbal steam room is nice and the ice shower was great, but again, felt unclean, especially the foot spas which were never not being used.
My treatment was lovely, as was the therapist (I didn’t catch her name) I had a back massage and left this feeling incredibly relaxed!
We then went into the pool area, as when we arrived, an aqua class was taking place so we couldn’t have gotten in the pool even if we wanted to. The pool area wasn’t the best, hardly any loungers for the amount of people there, plus people had left towels on the beds and disappeared elsewhere, which is annoying! I did have a great swim and was able to relax once it was done.
The afternoon tea again, was adequate. A few sandwiches, scone (this was the best part!) and a few cakes, some just cut from a loaf. I had a latte and my friend had a tea, not too bad.
I then went to the Elemis stand to see what I could purchase using the £5 voucher I’d been given in my treatment. The small print said “available on items over £50” which felt a bit of a con, as what I wanted was £45.
Overall, I wouldn’t return but it was a nice day; I just don’t think it’s great value for money.
