NOT real Duckpin, but something fun to do with kids on a bad weather afternoon

点评：We were visiting family in Medina for the holidays and went here to keep the kiddos occupied one afternoon. Friends of my husband's had recommended it.
Duckpin bowling was advertised on their site for about $7/person/game. We are from Maryland, and duckpin bowling is a Maryland thing so we were surprised and excited to find it in eastern Ohio. Unfortunately, what the Foundry Social has is NOT duckpin bowling. There are duckpins, but they are held up by strings. The alley is also about 1/3 the size of a regular bowling alley. Furthermore, when the pins were reset between balls, it often put back down pins that we had knocked over. The score was always accurate, but the pins coming back down was very frustrating for my youngest. If you have no expectations about duckpin bowling, you may love it. For us, it was disappointing.
So, we decided to play some of the arcade games, most of which were popular in the 80's. This was fun for my husband and I. I went to purchase tokens, but the front desk was short and didn't have the 20 needed for purchase. So we were given a complementary 5 tokens, which was nice. We started with skee-ball. This did not have tickets, which I prefer, but again frustrated the youngest. Maybe set that expectation before you go if you have kids familiar with the tickets at skee-ball.
Then we discovered the Nintendo. Our oldest crushed her father in a fighting game, to her delight. Then the kids played each other. I wish they had Tetrus. I would have stayed longer to play. There were tons of Atari games there, but no Atari system. That made me sad. Space Invaders would have been awesome.
Other games offered were giant Jenga, Shuffleboard, and Corn Hole. There are also go karts, but we didn't use those. We didn't have any food so I can't speak to the service of the wait staff or the quality of the food.
All in all, we might go back when we visit again, if the weather is bad and we're looking for something to do. It also seemed like a good spot for date night or to meet with some friends on a weekend evening.
