点评:What a shame: The site is actually a highly interesting archaeological site with a fascinating history – but professionals should be hired to explain the site.
There's a brochure that you can download to your phone via QR code, there are several panels around the site that explain details, and there are additional books available for purchase in the (inexpensive) museum shop.
Nevertheless, you're left with a jumble of details; the texts are full of architectural history terms that aren't explained. Above all, it's sometimes difficult to find the details described in the texts on the site.
Three measures could help:
- A short introductory film could explain the general historical context, the different layers of the site (with a 3D graphic), and a few details.
- The operator could provide each interesting object on the site with a sign with a number on it. The brochure should include a clear, understandable text for each number.
- An app could display the buildings in virtual reality as they probably once looked.
All of this would cost money. But admission has almost doubled in four years, and if the site were more understandable, more visitors would come.
Note: There is a reduced admission rate for seniors until May 31st; from June 1st, they will also have to pay €15.
