点评：Myself and my husband volunteered at Rescue Center Costa Rica at Christmas and New Year: what an amazing experience 💚
I wasn’t sure when we first arrived, as we were somewhat older (43yrs and 56 yrs old) than most of the other volunteers but then we settled in and made many friends with humans and animals.
This Rescue Center is dedicated to protecting and helping endangered Costa Rican wildlife, they rescue, rehabilitate and where possible release the animals back to their natural habit. We loved cleaning, feeding, and caring for the animals here. The work was rewarding and the team were inspiring.
We were provided with breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday. The food is simple but plentiful, lots of fruits and veggies. If you want some treats/different food, then the supermarket is only a short walk away. There are also pizza places and restaurants nearby. The accomodation is also simple, but it was clean and pleasant. Our room was cleaned every day. You could do your laundry for free once a week, which was great.
There was plenty of time off for relaxing. We did 2 day trips (at extra cost but this was reasonably priced), one trip to Poas Volcano/Coffee Plantation/Waterfall, and another trip of a boat ride to dinner and swimming with the bioluminescent algae.
We will definitely be back.
