Rescue Center Costa Rica的点评
点评：First things first, your deposit goes to Volunteer World, not the Rescue Center Costa Rica.
It is non-fundable, and a staggering 25% of the overall cost cost.
4 weeks is US $1495.
1128 + 367 (deposit)
I booked for 4 weeks, and left after 1 week, which was the cost of my deposit.
I suggested that we are equal, in that my deposit covered the cost of 1 week, but no, I had to pay for this 1 week, and my full (25% of 4 weeks) was not reimbursed. I now have credit for Volunteer World.
Not what you'd expect for such a 'moral organisation'
Unfortunately it feels more like a business.
The owners gave me a discount for my 1 week's stay, but they come across a tad rude, and more like managers. They are not involved in the day to day running of the Centre. All a bit shady in my opinion.
It is expensive, especially considering that 'guests' are volunteers, working 6 days per week preparing food, feeding and cleaning the animals.
DO NOT EXPECT TO BE DOING ANYTHING MORE THAT THIS.
I genuinely thought the experience would be far more immersive and educational.
How disappointing, especially for someone that planned this for over a year, and flew all the way from England.
In reality, the 'staff' are nice, but disorganised, with very limited knowledge of the animals' history and normal habitual behaviours (ie, how they live in the wild).
There is very little info on the Rescue Center's history, or the site where is it located, not to mention to plans for the animals' release!
