点评:I booked by phone an Eleuthera Pineapple Farm Tour for our adult party-of-4, scheduling a late weekday morning visit in mid-June. We were unsure where the entry to the property was on our first pass along Queen's Highway, but we turned around beyond the Farm's historic Hatchet Bay Silos ruins (built circa 1930) and returned to the location of the roadside sign. A short drive onto the property (follow the tire tracks) led us to the friendly owner & tour guide Mr. Russell waiting for us near his small collection of sunflowers, and he took things and our curiosities from there.
EPFarm's main attraction is the expansive pineapple field, and Mr. Russell shared a wealth of knowledge with us about the historical & agricultural aspects of growing his healthy crop of exceptionally sweet Sugar Loaf pineapples. We were able to inspect the plants & fruits up close and personal, while being warned to avoid the VERY sharp finely serrated edges of the pineapple plants' long slender leaves. After that session he led us to & through the adjacent growing plots comprising a large variety of other fruit trees & bushes, with a brief stop to try our first Cocoplums (after which we were given a couple of pocketsful of the small plum family fruits to snack on back at our vacation house). Bananas, plantains, mangoes, papaya, guava, soursop fruit, sweet apples, sea grapes, and probably other local fruits I've forgotten were in various stages of ripening for Russell Family consumption), and we learned about them all on our fascinating tour. Mr. Russell even has a surprisingly large personal flower garden to add to the Farm's beauty. He also pointed out a small hut being built on the property, with plans to offer farm products and a selection of gifts in the future. At the end of our tour we were surprised with a complimentary pineapple on its way toward ripening, which we all enjoyed later in the week (direct sunlight helped speed the process).
We strongly recommend an individual or group tour of the Eleuthera Pineapple Farm as part of your leisure activities on the Island. The natural beauty & the educational information & the passion displayed by Mr. Russell for his hand-picked delicious product are together well worth the price of admission.

在那次会议之后,他带领我们穿过了相邻的种植地,那里种满了各种果树和灌木,我们短暂停留,品尝了第一批 Cocoplums(之后,他们给了我们几袋这种小型李科水果,让我们回到度假屋吃)。
