点评:My friend and I turned up on the off chance that we could have a tour, the previous one was fully booked, so we booked for the following tour an hour later. We were given hard hats, fluorescent tabards and lamps that clipped on our hard hats while waiting for the previous tour to arrive back on the surface. We went down into the mine via the cage holding about four people and an English speaking guide, once all those in the tour group were all down in the mine the guide gave us a talk about the 60 year history of the mine and surrounding area as the town was built over and round the mine shaft. The tunnels are high and wide with good ventilation and as we walked along the guide would stop and give us more information about the things we were seeing, like all the machinery in the mine goes down in components small enough to fit in the cages then is assembled in the mine and there it stays, hence the old bulldozer and rock cutter tucked away in areas no longer used.It was lovely to see stalactites in various places along the tunnels and at the end of the tour we were given the opportunity to take a piece of rock salt if we wished, all in all an enjoyable time spent doing something different.
