点评：All miniature parks are not the same, and Swissminiatur is particularly good. Opened in 1959 and set in Melide near Lugano, it presents Switzerland in miniature and the attention to detail on most exhibits really shows. Zurich Airport probably needs an update, though it is almost more charming now as a small record of what it used to look like.
The working models are a major part of the appeal. Trains, boats, cable cars and funiculars keep younger children interested, while adults may find themselves quietly checking which parts of Switzerland they still have not visited. The café has a homely atmosphere and, mercifully, does not charge extortionate prices. The park also has a family-run feel, with the people behind it visibly present, which gives the place a warmer character than one might expect from a tourist attraction.
The area around the park is worth a stroll too. Combined with Monte San Salvatore, just a short train hop away, and perhaps a walk along Lugano’s promenade, it makes for a perfect, easy-paced family day out. It's also a great stop for groups passing Lugano and one doesn't need to get into the city yet can get good lake views.
