点评:Ok, so I’m not a spring chicken and apparently nor am I a mountain goat !
We came prepared for this - walking boots, plenty of water and snacks.
Set off from the car park and went up the Llanberis path ( apparently the easiest of the ways up 🤷♀️)
Took us approximately 5 hours to get to the top - we were actually going to turn around with about a mile to go. There are signs to show you how far you have left to go. So at this point we had something like 104 more flights of stairs.
But we discussed that if we get to the top then we would save our legs and train it down. Checked the website and that was most definitely an option.
So onwards we went. Got to the top and went into the station to be told that there was no option to train down. We were told that you can only train up - that was when we noted some upset people who had clearly just been told the same info.
They said that there may be a spare seat on the last train, but it was not guaranteed, at this point it was 15.30 and we wanted to get down before it got dark, so off we went.
Took about 3 and a half hours to get down and that was harder on the knees than going up.
I felt very pleased that we had achieved this and the place is stunning - but please be aware that this is no walk in the park.
Go prepared and know your limit.
