Lovely stay, few niggles let it down
Witton Castle Country Park的点评
点评：We had a really nice stay here last week in Gatehouse View for 4 nights.
Our caravan was modern, nicely situated in a quiet area. There was a lack of jacket/bag hanging in the accommodation, easily solved by popping some hooks somewhere on the wall.
The mattresses were awful, the one on the double bed was really uncomfortable and I could feel the springs digging in when I lay down. (I am not big or heavy) and my 8 year old opted to sleep on the (very comfy) couch instead.
There were also quite a few dirty dishes in the cupboard, although I appreciate this is down to the last occupiers not the cleaning staff as all the dishes were put away, but hadn't been washed. No biggie, I washed the dishes but maybe this should be checked more thoroughly.
The grounds, as I said above, were beautiful, incredibly well maintained and really nice to wander round, although I was surprised at the lack of safe footpaths. I had a buggy and 3 small children and walking up and down the road from caravan to the castle was quite dangerous at times due to the amount of cars and speed some of them went. Walking to the castle is encouraged by the site, and as a family friendly place, I really feel footpaths should be prioritised.
My final niggle, is the lunch boxes in the cafe. I was given one for my 1 year old and it contained a lolly inside, I removed it but I was surprised, again as a family friendly place, that lollies were put in due to choking risks. A small freddo ect wouldn't cost that much more and is so so much safer.
Apart from the above, our stay was lovely. Entertainment in the day and the kids party was a unexpected bonus, the go karts were lots of fun. Thank you to Adam and the other lady (im really sorry her name escapes me!) My girls had such a good time playing with you guys.
Definitely recommend and would return if we were in the area again.

正如我上面所说，庭院很漂亮，维护得非常好，非常适合四处闲逛，不过我对缺乏安全的人行道感到惊讶。我带着一辆婴儿车和三个小孩，从房车到城堡的路上来回走动有时相当危险，因为车很多，有些车开得很快。城堡的景色鼓励人们步行前往，而且作为一个适合家庭游玩的地方，我真心觉得应该优先考虑人行道。
我最后一个不满的是咖啡馆里的午餐盒。他们给我1岁的孩子准备了一个午餐盒，里面装着一根棒棒糖，我把它拿了出来，但我很惊讶，同样是一个适合家庭游玩的地方，他们竟然会放棒棒糖，因为担心窒息风险。买一小块弗雷多糖之类的东西不会贵太多，而且安全得多。
除此之外，我们的住宿体验非常棒。白天的娱乐活动和儿童派对是意外的惊喜，卡丁车也非常有趣。感谢亚当和另一位女士（抱歉我忘了她的名字！）我的女儿们和你们玩得很开心。
绝对推荐，如果我们再来这个地区，还会再来的。
