点评：Great scenery. Pleasant train. We travelled in first class. Comfy seats, but the carriage was incredibly hot until cloud cover helped cool things down. Effective air con would have helped as it was very uncomfortable.
The train is trying to be a high-class experience, but we felt it didn't quite cut it. You ended up expecting more than it actually delivered, and this began to distract from the main attraction - the scenery. We did the Bernina Express the next day and far preferred it. Better scenery. Less pretentious. More stunning train track.
The food on board the Glacier Express was bland, small portions and generally underwhelming. We booked the 3 course lunch menu, as that was all that was offered when booking online. No choice at all on board. You get what you get. You can order from the a la carte, but we didn't know this until we were on board. Not that that was much better. You are offered a drink before the meal at extra cost. You can't order a drink during the meal, though, whi h was frustrating. The meal takes a long time to reach you, and the initial luke warm drink was long gone by the time the main course arrived. No chance of a new glass of wine to go with the chicken fricassee... The cake at the end was nice, and the additional cost coffee was good. But we ended up feeling let down by thus and wishing we'd brought our own sandwiches from the excellent cafe/ deli at Brig Station instead. We really didn't want to be thinking about any of this when the beautiful views were what we'd come to see.
Maybe do your own thing and get a normal train? IMO not worth the extra money...
