The Worst 8 Hours I Have Ever Spent on a Train

点评：We did this trip with a group. The high temperature on Saturday, September 12, 2026 when we boarded in Brig was 93 deg F/34 deg C. The cars have very nice tall glass windows that wrap onto the top, which is great for viewing the beautiful scenery along the route, but make them a sweatbox if the AC is not working. We started getting hot as soon as we boarded. About 2.5 hours into the trip, the conductor finally opened the doors in the car connectors where we could get some cooling from the car in front of us. Everyone was taking turns going to the front of our car to try to cool off. Needless to say, this was not very conducive to enjoying the scenery. It was so hot, I could not even charge my Iphone because it showed to be too hot to charge, the first time I have ever had that happen and I live in Texas. The wait staff was bringing us water with ice because it wa so miserable. The car was so hot, it did not cool off any as we gained altitude. the people in the cars in front of us had jackets and I saw a few pull up their hoodies because their car was so cool trying to cool off our car. At the turn around at Chur when they added a normal commuter train cars and engine, we moved to a normal car with air conditioning since it was approaching sundown, so the the view was irrelevant anyway, but at last we had a car with a more bearable temperature. As I said, we were with a group, so I'm not sure what I paid for the trip, but I assume it was the same as the people in the cars with air conditioning. The views were great, the food was very good, but the entire experience was ruined by enduring temperatures that I guessed were approaching the mid to high 80's for most of the trip. This is a train trip I had always wanted to take, I would never recommend it to anyone now. I wished I had had a thermometer, that is the only other photo I would have added to this review. I took quite a few until my phone started overheating.
