Too many locks, 8-6pm nonstop boating/locking, lack of views

点评：I would have rather been at work than on this boat trip. We started in joigny for a two week trip. We are on day 4 and willing to for over all the remaining money we paid for the rental and go pay for a hotel literally anywhere. This is not a relaxing taking in the vistas holiday. We will circle back to the vistas later. Every 30 minutes or less there is another lock. These are all hand crank locks. You have to jump out tie up and help the lock keeper crank the gates so it doesn’t take double the amount of time. To make it to our destination every night before the locks close at 6:30pm. We start off at 8 am and spend and entire grueling day of zero leisure stops constantly doing locks in the blaring sun. To make it even more fun there are bridges 10-15 minutes in between the locks so you spend the rest of your day constantly putting up the Bimini and taking it down. Now on to the vistas. There is nothing to look at. You don’t go through towns all you see are sparse farm lands. I don’t think I took a single picture day 3 bc there wasn’t anything noteworthy. The lady at lock 59 didn’t speak e flush and couldn’t communicate to us that there were special timings for lunch breaks today so we stopped in the side of the canal and the next lock keeper had to come find us to tell us the hours for today they were closed for lunch from 1-3 not 12-1. This is unorganized, no facilities along route except if you rush all day to make it to the town. No restaurants along the way either. This trip can’t be over fast enough.
