点评:3 days before our departure, Locaboat emailed to say part of the canal was closed for maintenance so our original 7 day oneway trip was no longer possible. Instead we would be able to go just 1.5 days as planned then return. Locaboat offered 1 other cruise option in Bordeaux, but as we had already booked arrivals/departures to Nivernais, plus had tight onward timetables this didnt work. Locaboat would not accommodate any of our suggestions eg starting from the other end so we could cruise 3.5 days before returning, or going oneway in the opposite direction. In the end we went 2 days in the opposite direction (thru the 16 lock Baye section (twice) & 1 day return in the original direction. While pretty, these sections of the canal and nearby villages were pretty deserted and lacking in shops, attractions or interest points. Most of the things in the guidebook were no longer open. This was our second canal trip, but will be our last as it showed how powerless we were to get Locaboat to deliver the holiday we had purchased. Locaboat said it would refund our 200 Euro oneway fee. 10 days later, we are still waiting. Locaboat also never told us how long they had known about the canal closure, but given their poor treatment of us, its hard not to suspect it was longer than 3 days.
