Give Sabah Tea Factory a miss. Terrible

点评：We were taken to the Sabah Tea Factory, and the experience started off oddly enough—walking under the trees with deafening cicada noise, we stated 'oh it's raining' only to be told it was actually cicada pee.😳😳😳😳😳😳 Keep your hats on. 👌
Having visited tea plantations in Sri Lanka, where everything is professionally run with stunning, neatly manicured rows of tea bushes, this place was a major letdown. Sabah Tea Factory felt more like a neglected backyard than a proper plantation. There were no visible rows of tea bushes, and the whole place lacked any sense of care or presentation.
The factory tour didn’t improve things. The guide spoke very slowly in poor English and came across as condescending throughout. When our friend asked a question, he responded with visible irritation and an arrogant tone, even leaning forward to ask, “You understand NOW?”—and repeated this in a way that felt unnecessarily rude and patronizing.🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
To make matters worse than they already were, there were no machines running, and while the floors were clean, there was no sign of actual production—no tea leaves, no dust, nothing. It all felt staged purely for tourists. Photography wasn’t allowed inside, which only added to the sense that there wasn’t much to see anyway.
The tea tasting at the end was average at best, and clearly didn’t impress anyone—no one in our group bought any tea.
Overall, this was a disappointing and underwhelming experience. There are far better tea plantation visits elsewhere, and this is one I would strongly recommend skipping.
