点评:We took the 90-minute boat trip from Penang National Park to the tortoise conservatory and Monkey Beach, and it made for an interesting day out. The first stop was the tortoise conservatory, where we spent about 30 minutes. The conservatory itself has just one tortoise and a few preserved displays, but the island is pleasant to walk around. The lake was dry during our visit, and there’s a wooden bridge leading to a hiking trail that takes about 1.5 hours back to the national park if you prefer to return on foot.
Our next stop was Monkey Beach, which was definitely the highlight. The island has three small restaurants overlooking the shore—one serving meals and soft drinks, and two offering alcohol. While enjoying fresh coconut water, a monkey suddenly grabbed one from our table! It was surprising but also a good reminder: the monkeys are very bold and will snatch anything that looks like food. Visitors should stay alert.
The beach is lovely for walking, and there’s also an ATV option at RM120 for two people for a 20-minute ride.
Do keep in mind the extra fees: the boat trip costs RM100 per person, and you’ll also need a national park pass (RM50 per person) as a conservation fee.
Overall, it’s a fun and scenic trip, especially for nature lovers—just be cautious with your snacks around the monkeys!
