Abit disappointing but our dog enjoyed her walk

点评：Firstly we parked at other end of the forest to the information centre, and from there the trails aren't clearly marked at all which was disappointing as we didn't want to end up getting lost in as big a forest as Hamsterley is, it does have marker maps but the colour codes and arrow markers are not very clear and understandable. On another note we did manage to find benches with a pergola which is a nice touch and looks lovely with the forest as a back drop. I also noticed a serious lack of bins around for people to clean up after their dogs but plenty of signs reminding people. It's great to come across a lack of litter too as there seems to be a lack of litter bins, so it's nice that people take there litter home with them. We were there for a few hours taking our dog for a walk which she enjoyed so much she fell asleep in the car ride back home. Hamsterley forest is great for dog walkers, hikers, cyclists aswell as a day out for a picnic with the family, plenty of picnic tables and resting places along the way. If you do take your dog like we did we always pack water for her aswell as snacks for her and ourselves, it's important to keep your dogs and yourselves well hydrated aspecially during summer months. We never did get all the way to the information centre as it was starting to get too warm for our dog and the walk was around 2 to 3 miles from where we'd parked. As its nearly an hour and half drive we wouldn't re-visit unless we were staying somewhere close by.
