点评:This small but packed museum is a great place to learn about Florida history, early settlers, the citrus industry, railroad history, the cracker way of life, history of The Villages and more.
The museum has served in many capacities: a railroad depot, library and museum.
If you are a railroad enthusiast, don’t miss the working model railroad in the back where Mr. Rob from The Villages railroad club explained the history of the railroad in the Central Florida area.
Railroad cars are also on the campus.
The only drawback is the limited hours: Tuesday and Saturday from 11-1. Admission is free; donations are appreciated. We were welcomed by Ms. Maggie.
There’s a lot to do in this compact area including the Lady Lake Chamber of Commerce, adjacent to the museum, Snooky Park and Ye Olde Thrift Shop.
