Stunning Scenery Ruined by Noise – A One-Time Visit

点评：Cheddar Gorge is undoubtedly a beautiful destination - dramatic country scenery, charming cafes, and interesting little shops make it a great place to visit. It’s perfect for a scenic drive or a relaxed day out.
However, I won't be returning - and the reason is noise.
While most cars and bikers visiting the gorge are respectful and pass through quietly, a specific group is spoiling it for everyone: the L-plate 125cc motorbike riders. These bikes have often had their exhausts modified or baffles removed, making them far louder than even large motorcycles.
All day long, they race up and down the hill, revving loudly and echoing off the rock faces. It feels more like a racetrack than a peaceful countryside escape. It’s relentless and ruins the otherwise tranquil atmosphere.
To be clear, this isn’t a dig at motorcyclists in general - most are courteous and likely just as fed up with the noise offenders. I’d urge Cheddar locals and visitors alike to report this issue to the police, as it's damaging the area’s appeal.
I might return one day, but only with a packed lunch to enjoy at the top of the gorge - well away from the road.
