I had the privilege of visiting the Tulja Bhavani Temple in Tuljapur during December, as the Goddess is our Kuldevi. For those planning to visit, Tuljapur is easily accessible from Solapur. Here’s some helpful travel information:
Nearest airport: Pune.
By train: From Pune, there are two routes:
Pune to Solapur
Pune to Osmanabad
By road:
From Solapur, Tuljapur is about 45 km.
From Osmanabad, Tuljapur is approximately 25 km.
State transport buses are available for these routes.
I personally traveled from Mumbai to Solapur by train and then took a bus from Solapur to Tuljapur.
In Tuljapur, you will find many hotels for accommodation. The temple itself is vast, and for darshan in the regular line, you may need at least 1.5 hours. While there is a VIP line for quicker access, I prefer the regular line. Personally, I believe paid darshan should be abolished. God's blessings are universal, and there should be equality for all devotees in seeking darshan.
Additionally, I strongly advocate for the provision of a separate line for physically handicapped individuals and senior citizens to ensure their comfort and ease during the pilgrimage. Such a facility would reflect the true spirit of compassion and inclusivity that temples should uphold.
The best time to visit Tuljapur is during the winter season (November to February) when the weather is pleasant, making the journey and darshan experience more comfortable.
Mobile phones are allowed inside the temple, and there are designated areas outside the temple to safely leave your shoes.
